The elections of the Bar Council of Tami Nadu scheduled to be held on 28th March, 2018. Earlier, Justice Akbar Ali appointed as Returning Officer and thereafter, Justice T.Mathivanan has also been appointed as Additional Returning Officer. Bar Council of India framed certain guidelines for regulating the Election. Now the Returning Officers pointed out that the candidature shall liable to be cancelled, in case the candidates violate any of the guidelines issued by Bar Council of India or any malpractice or using any unfair means. Placing Banners, posters, pamphlets for canvassing is banned. Particularly, circulating of pamphlets inside the Court Campus will attract a fine to the maximum of Rs.1 Lakh.
