The Supreme Court delivered its judgment in the matter of the death of Judge Loya, who was hearing the case of killings of Sohrabuddin and his wife, wherein the BJP President Mr.Amit Shah is the prime accused. Due to the media report, several suspicions arose in the death of Judge Loya. As per the Post Mortem Report, he died due to heart attack. Cases have been filed in the above matter before the Bombay High Court and before the Supreme Court of India. Thereafter all the cases have been transferred to the Supreme Court of India. In such crucial time, the historical press conference of four senior most judges of Supreme Court took place. The issue regarding the allotment of cases to the bench arose and consequently it is held that the Chief Justice is the Master of Roaster. Lengthy arguments advanced by the Senior counsels appeared on either side. There are ugly fights and comments between the Senior Counsel Duve and Harish Salve and Rotagi and there was an express comment by the Judges that Supreme Court is not a fish market. Too much heat spread in the judicial corridor. After hearing lengthy arguments, the Supreme Court dismissed all the applications as there is no suspicion upon the death of Judge Loya and the statement of four judicial officers, who were available along with Judge Loya at the time of his death, are fair and did not raise any suspicion. The Supreme Court further observed that the misuse of public interest litigation is a serious matter of concern for the judicial process. It is also further observed that there are sufficient grounds for taking criminal contempt in this case as against the Intervenors , the Supreme Court does not want to initiate criminal contempt on a dispassionate view of the matter.
