Today, the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court will hear the Writ Petition challenging the impugned rejection of Impeachment Motion by the Chairman of Rajya Sabha in Court Hall No.6 of the Apex Court. It is not known so far as to who constitutes the Bench regarding the un-precedent case against the sitting Chief Justice of India. The Petition has been filed by Partap Singh Bajwa and Amee Yajnik, who are Members of Parliament and Signatories to the Motion of Impeachment against the Chief Justice of India.
The Chairman of Rajya Sabha has dismissed the impeachment motion in the admission stage itself on various grounds. The order has been challenged on various grounds.
The aforesaid matter has been listed as item No.501 in Court Hall No.6.
